Explanations

In case anyone still reads this blog, here's why I hardly ever post anymore: I've been moving. It's been a huge, complicated mess in which I've been attempting to work full time while moving my hideous amounts of stuff through repeated 400 miles trips in a compact car. Red tape from the transfer of my employment has filled up a lot of my spare time, too, but that at least is over now. All in all, it's a huge, convoluted, depressing mess that I haven't much wanted to talk (or think) about and which probably won't be truly straightened out until early December.

I'm hoping to only rent one U-Haul one time for the bigger pieces of furniture that won't fit in the car. I have good reason to travel back and forth a half-dozen times anyway, so it's not hugely inconvenient to use that process to move my stuff. Not more inconvenient than the rest of the unholy mess, anyway.

So now you know.

Apology and Fringe Politics

Sorry I haven't been posting regularly lately. Work complications (and an increase in mindless recreation to recoup afterward) have been distracting me.

Today isn't a full blog post either. Just a link to an interesting and unusual political view: a defense of insider trading in the stock market.

Okay, Here's The Story

No, my life did not flip or get turned upside down. But I would like to take a minute (just sit right there) to brag that as of yesterday I am officially out of debt. Yay.

Anyway, the hiatus has been because I've been writing my own website to use for my blog. I'm hoping to eventually make it more of a political discussion site than just a blog, but I'm making the blog part first. Here's the evolutionary plan:
  1. Host my blog there.
  2. Add a feedback forum to the blog.
  3. Let others create blogs there, too.
  4. Put the best articles from all blogs on the main page -- kind of a blog-driven political news site.
  5. Put in a "Special Interest Groups" system for socio-political networking.
It's a big idea.

I don't have much to show yet (in fact it's giving me at 503: Service Temporarily Unavailable error at the time of this writing, which I'm out of time to correct), but this will all be at Psudo.us.

I donno... maybe it'll be worth it, maybe not. But I have all these crazy plans demanding to be implemented, and I wanna try it.

There'd be more to show you, but I also somehow managed to get a few fake virus scanners installed on my network. Removing them has proven unexpectedly difficult, so that's been distracting me pretty well, too.

Anyway... I'm not sure this exactly qualifies as "regular posting", but at least you know what's going on now. Chaos has fallen, but I think I can get it sorted out pretty quickly. See ya'll later.

One more day...

I said I'd resume regular posting on Friday (today), but it looks like it's gonna be Saturday (tomorrow). I'll have something to show, though, that will explain my behavior.

Sorry to try your patience (assuming there are readers out there).

Temporary Hiatus

Regular posts will resume Friday. Sorry I didn't give warning ahead of time.

Introducing, Your Host and My Close Personal Friend...

Hi there. I'm Psudo. There's no 'e' in my name.

My blog is titled "Psudo Scholar" because it's a pretty good description of myself. I'm not really a scholar, but I'm interested in learning and often very thorough in my studies of various topics. I don't have any impressive degrees nor have I been to any impressive universities, but I'm pretty smart and spend a lot of my time studying topics that interest me; things like politics, religion, TV shows and movies, and interesting bits of history.

In the coming days, I'll be trying to create a habit of daily blog posting on whatever topic interests me at that moment. The following are a few of my goals. We'll see how well I achieve them.
  • One post per week will pertain to religion, typically on Sunday. I'm LDS.
  • One post per week will pertain to the White House, starting with analysis of the issues surrounding Obama's various campaign promises.
  • One post per month will be a short biography of a historically important figure, typically an US founding father or similar American hero. I may eventually revisit the same heros a few times in order to cast them in a different light or tout different achievements.
I'll probably also rant about video games (typically very old ones), movies (of all ages), work stuff (I currently work at Walmart), and other assorted debris of dubious interest. I hope you enjoy it, but even more I hope you'll dispute me when I'm wrong.
